Good morning,

Following on from the previous messages about the changeover of landline services to broadband-based calls, BT have now announced the timetable for the switch. The South West of England is due to start switching over in the Autumn of this year. We at DNPA and many other organisations have repeatedly stressed the potential difficulties this could cause if not done with the proper support and consideration for rural communities, and vulnerable people.

 

This webpage has been released along with BT’s new campaign with former newsreader Moira Stewart. It does look as if some of the concerns we have raised have been addressed, but I wanted to share with you – and therefore your communities – this support page about the switchover, which may be helpful.
